A&E Department at Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading
PSE Interiors carried out the Partitioning, Suspended Ceiling and Joinery installation within the new extension to the Emergency Department at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading.
The project was begun following a tendering process arranged by the Hospital Management Team, which we were pleased to win, which required our commitment and dedication necessary to achieve the aims of the project within a tight agreed programme.
The extension to the Emergency Department was to be incorporated within the existing building structure replacing redundant office accommodation. Our contract begun with the careful removal of unwanted partitioning and ceilings and disposal from site.
New partition walls were erected up to the structural slab all constructed using metal stud and plasterboard partitioning system to suit the requirements of the various areas.
Door units were all purpose made using ash veneers and hung within ash door frames, some of which can be seen within the photographs on this page.
The Suspended Ceilings to the main ward areas were constructed using Armstrong Optima tiles laid within a Microlook white grid system.
Store areas had ceiling constructed using the British Gypsum MF System, which consist of plasterboard secured to a metal framework.
