Bracknell Healthspace Clinic, Berkshire
The Health Authority required that the existing open plan Chemotherapy Department be converted to form five enclosed Outpatient clinics.
The refurbishment required the removal of most of the existing suspended ceiling and the installation of new partitioning forming the new clinics, including five double door units. These new partition walls were erected from the floor up to the underside structural slab.
The partitioning was constructed using a 70mm metal stud framework, clad either side with a single layer of 15mm thick British Gypsum Soundsoak Plasterboard, with the joints made flush and decorated with white vinyl matt emulsion paint.
The double doors were 44mm thick, solid core, clad either side with red laminate and ash exposed lippings on all edges. The door frames were constructed using soft wood, decorated using grey gloss paint to match the existing colour scheme.
The IPS Duct Panelling was installed to hide water and waste pipes and also provide a washable surface around the new basin and taps. This ducting was constructed using black laminated MDF removable panels secured on a timber framework which was faced with light grey base laminated panelling.
The new ceiling was constructed using 600 x 600 x 15mm Armstrong Bioguard Plain tiles suspended within a 15mm white exposed grid framework.
